Employment in France

If you hold a residence permit or a "passeport-talent" visa, you can only work in public or private institutions approved for research or university teaching (with the establishment of a hosting agreement). If you work in a different context, you need to apply for a change of status from researcher to employee. This change of status is done at the prefecture by appointment.

Jobs for the spouses of researchers

The spouses of researchers which hold a residence permit  "vie privée - vie familiale" are allowed to work in France in any field they wish. Therefore, researchers' spouses have access to the job market in France, where the legal duration of full-time work is set at 35 hours per week.

France Travail (ex Pôle Emploi)

France Travail (former Pôle Emploi) serves as both the public organisation where you must register as a job seeker and a job search engine offering job offers in all fields.

Find all the information on the  France Travail website.
